Cherry Blossom, our nursery school in the West End lanes of Dundee specialises in nursery care for newborn to 5 year olds.

Our exciting new Dudhope Parkview Nursery project, opened in March 2019. Situated in a prime location at the foot of Dundee Law, this nursery provides state of the art facilities for nursery children of all ages.

Taylor Brothers Limited was founded by Dundee based entrepreneur Graham Giblen in 1975. Graham has a wealth of development experience, completing numerous successful projects over the decades.

About Taylor Brothers

Taylor Brothers Limited is a venture capital and development company that specialises in delivering local projects that serve the Tayside area. These projects often take vacated and decayed local building stock, and comprehensively rebuild them, to ensure they are not lost from the Dundee streetscape.

Graham Giblen, Director, has built up a wealth of experience in the construction industry, before founding Taylor Brothers Ltd in 1975. Dundee born, Graham grew up in the area and retains his passion for the City and it's culture. Thus Graham has a unique understanding of the challenge in successfully integrating projects within the local community.

Taylor Bothers Limited has delivered many projects locally - on time, and in budget.

Over the years we have built up a specialism in providing effective, community focused projects. In the case of Dudhope Nursery we have brought an otherwise vacant and decaying local council building back to life with comprehensive refurbishment and re-purposing, after purchasing the property in 2017.

In other examples, such as the Cherry Blossom Nursery featured below, we have started from a clean slate on a brownfield site. This has allowed us to deliver purpose built, state of the art facilities to become rooted within the local community.

Cherry Blossom

Our new build nursery school in the West End lanes of Dundee specialising in nursery care for newborn to 5 year olds.

Situated close to Dundee University, Ninewells Hospital, Abertay University and the city centre of Dundee. This is a nursery school in an idyllic garden setting for busy working parents.

The nursery was built on time and on budget by local building contractors, and since become a valued asset of the local community.

Dudhope Parkview Nursery

This exciting project started on-site at the end of 2017, and opened on schedule in March 2019. In a prime location - opposite the vast Dudhope park at the foot of Dundee Law, Dudhope promises to deliver an excellent new local nursery facility in a tranquil setting.

An existing primary school fallen into disuse, Taylor Brothers recognised the opportunity to comprehensively refurbish and repurpose a valuable local asset for the future. A generously proportioned and robustly built building of great character, Dudhope presented a fantastic base on which to build a new state of the art facility for children of a number of ages.

The project includes a unique timber balcony play area looking on to Dudhope park - accessible directly from all the classrooms. Each of the classrooms has fully glazed large format doors and vast windows enabling a bright, dynamic learning environment. Purpose built external play areas set around the large grounds allow for active outdoors play, and the contemporary new entrance area offers an attractive welcoming first impression, with formal square and high quality landscaping.

In addition, the classrooms will feature innovative folding partition walls to enable cross-class learning, fully opening out up to 3 large classrooms into one large flexible space. Brand new bespoke designed toilet and kitchen facilities will provide staff and youngsters alike with a clean, safe and comfortable environment to be proud of.

The project features new dedicated car parking, accessed directly off Dudhope Terrace for ease of drop off for hard working parents short on time.

Eagle Mill

The development of the Eagle Mill buildings will serve to regenerate and reinvigorate not only this iconic building, but also the surrounding area.

Standing proud at the top of Victoria Street overlooking the City of Dundee, the Eagle Jute Mill is an imposing edifice whose fortunes have been intertwined with those of the city since its construction in 1930.

For many years a thriving mill, producing the jute that made the city famous around the globe, the building has been latterly used as mixed commercial premises.

Acquired by Taylor Brothers in 2009, we have secured full planning permission for a complete repurpose and redevelopment of the mill.

The development will retain the beautiful shell of this unique property and the existing stone floors, brick arched ceilings, and cast iron columns and trusses will be preserved and blended with modern elements, to produce a building of integrity, character and excellence of finish.

The redevelopment will comprise:

On the ground floor, a 66 place child Nursery School with its own amenity space, parking and drop off zone. A coffee/bakery retail unit and two by two bed apartments.

On the upper floors, 32 x 2 and 3 bedroom apartments including loft apartments, with their own outdoor space, parking, external storage area, bicycle store and communal covered meeting/seating area.

The Brown Constable Street leg of the building has the Bicycle store etc. on the ground floor and above that is to be a fabrication unit (140m2) and two business start-up units (+/-60m2).
